đŸ’Ș Your Weekend Confidence Boost

Here’s a quick pep talk before your weekend kicks into full gear! đŸ’„

Before we dive in, let’s take a second to acknowledge YOU. Teaching during competition season is no joke. You’re juggling last-minute corrections, costume fixes, and nerves (both yours and theirs).

But here’s the truth: You’re doing an INCREDIBLE job.

Your dancers wouldn’t be where they are without your guidance, patience, and passion. Even if they don’t say it enough, trust me: they appreciate you more than you know. Keep showing up, because what you do matters. ❀

Now. Whether you’re gearing up for competition season or already in full swing, remember this:

Confidence isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being prepared.

Here’s what I see backstage when hosting dance competitions:

  1. Some dancers walk on with nerves all over their face, already doubting themselves before the music starts.

  2. Others step out with confidence, even if they’re a little unsure.

The difference?

How they talk to themselves (and teammates) before they go on.

One of the easiest ways to build confidence, for yourself and your dancers is to focus on what’s already working. Instead of stressing over mistakes, remind your dancers (and yourself) to:

✅ Acknowledge what went well
✅ Keep their focus on the next best step
✅ Trust their training

💡 Your Simple Takeaway:
Confidence grows when we recognize our progress, not just our perfection.

Before stepping on stage, I encourage nervous dancers to take a deep breath, stand tall, and remind themselves “I got this.” I’m their hypeman, like Flava Flav!

Try it with them in class, or backstage this weekend. It makes a huge difference.

Go shine this weekend. Your dancers are lucky to have you!
