The Weekend Rehearsal Reset
You've got rehearsal this weekend. The competition is coming. And your brain is already spinning with everything that needs fixing.
But here's the truth. You're doing the work of three people and most of it won't move the needle.
Here's a better plan.
The 3-Part Focus Formula:
Pick ONE routine to elevate. Not all of them. One. The routine that's almost there but needs your full attention.
Run it once with zero corrections. Just watch. Notice what's actually happening, not what you hope is happening.
Fix ONE thing that will make the biggest visual impact. Timing? Facials? A sloppy transition? Choose one. Drill it. Move on.
This isn't about doing more. It's about doing what matters.
You already know this works. The problem is you feel guilty choosing one thing when there are twelve things screaming for attention.
Give yourself permission. One routine. One fix. That's the weekend win.
Try this formula this weekend and reply with which routine you chose. I want to hear how it goes.

What Jim Rohn Taught Me About Freeze Moments
Let's be honest. You've seen it happen.
Rehearsal: clean, sharp, confident.
Competition day: hesitant, tight, second-guessing every move.
The problem isn't the choreography. It's not even the pressure.
It's this: your dancers haven't studied what happens under pressure.
Jim Rohn said, "If you wish to be happy, study happiness. If you wish to be successful, study success." He wasn't talking about dance, but the principle is everything.
If you want your dancers to perform under pressure, they have to study performing under pressure. Not just rehearse the steps.
Here's what that looks like:
The Pressure Practice Method:
Run the routine while simulating performance conditions: no stopping, no do-overs, no safety net.
Add one stressor each week: perform for parents, film it, play it back immediately, or have dancers introduce themselves out loud before they start.
Teach them to name the nerves before stepping on stage. "I'm nervous and that's fine. Now let's go."
When you rehearse the feeling, not just the steps, your dancers stop freezing. They start owning it.
Most teachers drill choreography. You're going to drill the stage mindset. That's the difference.
Save this method and share it with your team. This is the stuff that separates good routines from winning ones.

Compete With Confidence: The Live Session Your Team Needs
Here's the thing. You can drill steps all day. But if your dancers don't have the mental tools to execute under pressure, you're leaving points on the floor.
And you're carrying the weight of trying to fix it all yourself.
Compete With Confidence is a live 90-minute Zoom session where I teach you and your teachers the same strategies I use as a certified Maxwell Leadership coach, choreographer, and adjudicator.
We cover:
How to clean routines and execute combos under actual pressure (not just in your studio).
Musicality that judges notice and score higher.
Expressiveness and storytelling that connects with the audience, not just technically correct movement.
Backstage energy management so your dancers stay calm and focused instead of spiraling.
Mental focus, stage presence, and team communication that holds up when it counts.
Post-performance debrief systems that turn every competition into a learning moment, not just a score.
This isn't more choreography tips. This is the mental toughness, focus, and clarity your team needs to stand out and win.
The goal isn't more work for you. It's more relief, clarity, and confidence for you and your team.

The Backstage Rule Champions Use
You know what separates teams that crack under pressure from teams that thrive?
The 10-Minute Reset. Champions don't wing the backstage moment. They choreograph it just like they choreograph the routine.
Try the 10-Minute Reset at your next performance and reply to tell me how it went? I want to hear the shift!
You Got This!
Competition season is intense. But it doesn't have to swallow you whole.
One focused rehearsal. One mental shift. One backstage reset. That's all it takes to move the needle.
And if you want support, strategy, and a coach who's been in the trenches and knows what judges are actually looking for? Reply to this email. Let's talk about Compete With Confidence and get your team ready to slay!
High-five,
