š§¼ Are You Over-Cleaning Your Routines?
This Might Ruffle Feathers... But It Needs to Be Said.

Wait, youāre STILL cleaning, NOW?
š§¼ Are You Over-Cleaning Your Routines?
I rarely rant.
But this needs to be saidā¦
Iāve been watching competitions from the best seat in the house. Emceeing and judging across the country. I LOVE what I do!
But hereās what I keep seeing:
Teachers running dances right up until minutes, even seconds before their kids go on stage. š
If youāre STILL rehearsing at this point, hereās the (harsh?) realityā¦
ā ļø They donāt know the dance.
ā ļø You donāt trust your dancers.
ā ļø Orāyouāve unintentionally trained them to need you for every step.
Letās be real. Thereās a difference between being polished⦠and being so ācleanā that your routine loses all flavour.
Especially in hip hop and tap dance, where groove, swag, and individuality matter just as much as timing!
When every dancer moves exactly the sameā no texture, no personalityā the routine looks safe⦠but forgettable.
Yeah, I said it.
Because itās true.
What sticks with an audience (and judges) isnāt just unison. Itās commitment. Confidence. Story. Passion. Things you canāt drill into a dancer last minute backstage.
So hereās your reminder:
ā
Clean your dancers enough to be clear.
ā
Let them be free enough to be unforgettable.
Let them own it! Let them breathe. Let them shine.
